Numlings is a small, cosy game made by one person. This page is a plain explainer of what the game collects and why. The short answer is: very little, and we do not sell it.
The short version
The game does not know who you are. There is no account, no password, and no sign up. We never ask for your name, your email, or where you live. The small amount the game does collect is anonymous, and we only use it to fix bugs and run the leaderboards.
Getting the game
Numlings is in a free test right now. You download it straight from the app stores: TestFlight on iPhone, or Google Play on Android. You join through them, so Apple and Google look after that part. We do not run a sign up form, and we do not collect your email.
What the game collects
To keep the game running well and to fix problems, the app sends us a little information. None of it says who you are:
- A random code for your copy of the game. It is made on your phone, and it is not linked to you in any way.
- A nickname, only if you choose one for the leaderboards. You pick it, and it can be anything.
- Your phone model and the game version, so we can find and fix bugs.
- A rough guess at your country, worked out from your connection. We never store the full address your internet uses (your IP address).
- Simple counts of how the game is played, like when a game starts and ends, your score, and which puzzles you finish.
- If the game crashes, a short note about what went wrong. Never your photos, messages, or files.
We do not use the advertising ID on your phone, we do not follow you into other apps, and there is no login. We delete this information after 90 days, and only keep simple running totals after that.
Ads
The game may show ads, and those come from Google AdMob. We do not sell your information ourselves. When ads are on, though, Google receives some data to show and measure them, and Google follows its own rules that we cannot control. So we do two things to keep it fair: we ask AdMob for ads that are not based on who you are, and we give you a choice. If you live in Europe or the UK, a small box pops up asking what you are happy with. You can change your answer any time in the game's Settings, under Privacy options, and you can reset the ad ID in your phone's own settings. You can read what Google does in Google's privacy policy.
Who helps us run it
We never sell your information. A few trusted companies help us run the game:
- Google, for the Android test and for ads.
- Apple, for the iPhone test through TestFlight.
- DigitalOcean, the company whose computer safely stores the game information.
Your choices
- You can leave the test any time, from Google Play or TestFlight.
- You can ask us to delete anything tied to your copy of the game. Just send us an email.
- You can change your mind about ads any time, in Settings, under Privacy options.
Children
Numlings is not made for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you think a child has sent us something, email us and we will remove it.
Changes
We might update this page as the game grows. When we do, we will change the date at the top.
